Good news for the blind

Good News for the Blind

Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: "Allah said, 'If I deprive my slave of his two beloved things (his eyes) and he remains patient, I will let him enter Paradise in compensation for them.'"

There was once a man who had spent his whole life in piety. He came on the Day of Judgement with a mountain of good deeds, confident of his having earned his way to Jannah. The angels asked him whether he wanted to go Jannah by Allah's mercy or by virtue of his good deeds. Since he had spent his whole life doing good, he felt confident and said that he would like go to Jannah by virtue of his deeds. So the angels put his mountain of good deeds on one side of the scale and on the other side put his two eyes. The weight of his two eyes sent all his good deeds flying into the air.

The immense blessings that Allah (subhana wa ta'ala) has bestowed upon us in the form of our eyes, ears, tongue, nose and sense of touch is something we take for granted. If on top of that we add all of the other blessings Allah (subhana wa ta'ala) has bestowed on us, we will see that nobody does enough good to deserve Jannah. We do not even thank Allah (subhana wa ta'ala) enough for His blessings. We use our eyes every waking moment: Do we thank Allah (subhana wa ta'ala) for them every waking moment?

Jannah is such a great place that there is no chance that we could do enough good to deserve it. Allah bestows it on us out of His love for us. The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said that even he would enter Jannah by virtue of Allah's mercy.

Those who have sight do not thank Allah (subhana wa ta'ala) enough for this blessing. Try to go half a day blindfolded to appreciate the enormity of this blessing. Allah (subhana wa ta'ala), therefore, promises Jannah to him/her who is patient with Allah's decree on losing their sight. Each person's life is an exam for them. For the person who goes blind, patience is the key to passing the exam.

Another blasphemous film.

Asalamualikum wr wb.

I hope and pray this email finds you in best of health and taqwa insha Allah! Last night i got to know about another film another blasphemy and riots in Egypt and some 3 dozen people killed. It is very sad. So how are you planning to react to it?

But before i start, let me remind you that a similar test was there when we were facing the cartoon controversy, harime apa wrote in her article 'Reviving the Sunnah is the only way of countering the mockery'' (read the full article here: http://alsafh.wordpress.com/2010/05/22/cartoons-on-facebook-so-what-is-your-reaction/)

Be clear on the freedom to speech bit here: http://muslimfaith.wordpress.com/2012/09/16/how-to-react-to-the-abuses-against-islaam-shaykh-mokhtar-maghraoui/

What does Quran e Karim says about it? why do they keey on doing stuff like this? please see here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xajTxFa_Mck

and lastly, this is one of the best talks i came across when there was a question of banning facebook or not banning it was hanging in the air (although i stopped using Facebook then and Alhamdolilah never resumed it) this was amazing, Sheikh Kamaludin's lecture on this topic delivered at LUMS: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pak_paderborn/message/71

So protesting is not about rallies and all that stuff - think beyong it. revolutionize your lifestyle, your self and React in this way!
or how about boycotting these search engines for few days? or may be their products? because we are the one fueling them with our monies to do all this stuff directly or indirectly, no?

Much Jazakillah e khair.
Please remember me in your prayers.

Quran: Kill a believer intentionally

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

Allah Says in the Holy Quran Chapter 4 Surah Nisaa verse 93:
93      If a man kills a believer intentionally his recompense is Hell to abide therein (for ever): and the Wrath and the Curse of Allah are upon him and a dreadful penalty is prepared for him.

Roza 15 & 16.

Assalamualikum Va Rehmatullah

I'm adding few Ramdhan tips that Sum baji sent me (Jazakillah e khair.)

1) Make your aftari before hand
2) Plan your routine, To avail each second (rem we have 84,600 seconds a day only!)
3) Take up Easy Sunnah like Miswak, Smiling, Zikr-o-Allah while working.
4) Make list of duas for Iftar and Qadar Night.
5) Paste masnoon duas of breaking fast on the wall so it could remind you and others to read.
6) Give up one bad habit daily.
7) Take up one good habit daily.
8) do recitation of Quran with Understanding.

1) Character Improvement:

Greetings:

' when those who believe in our signs come to you, say 'Peace be upon you' (Al Anaam ; 54)

'when you are welcomed with a greeting, then answer back with something finer than that or (at least) return it,. Truly Allah takes count of things' (Nisa' : 86)

'Which means, when it is said, 'Aslamualikum', return it with a 'Walikum salam va rehmatullah', and if it is said 'Asalamualikum va rehmatullah' return it with better, 'say 'Walikum salam va rehmatullah va barakatuhu'

and if someone greet you with a 'Asalamualikum va rehmatullah va barakatuhu' return it with more passion than the greeter!

'when one of you arrives at a meeting where people are seated, he should say salam to them, And when he wishes to leave, he should say salam to them' (Abu Dauwd)

The person who arrives has the duty to initiate Salam to people.

Excess Eating:

' O you who believe! Allah will certainly make a trial of you with something in (the matter of) the game that is well within reach of your hands and your lances, that Allah may test who fears Him unseen. Then whoever transgresses thereafter, for him there is a painful torment. (Maida, Ayat 94)

Similar speech has been given here:

Say: "O 'Ibadi (My slaves) who have TRANSGRESSed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah, verily Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." Az-Zummar, Ayat 53

(2) Narrated Ibn 'Umar: Allah's Apostle said, "A believer eats in one intestine (is satisfied with a little food), and a kafir (unbeliever) or a hypocrite eats in seven intestines (eats too much)."  (Bukhari, Book #65, Hadith #306)

Above is a very Important hadith that tells a symbol of Hypocrite, ie he/she eats a lot! we and most importantly i myself, need to reconsider our eating manners as well. Please remember each other in prayers!

2) Inculcating sunnah as habits

The best way of saying Salam is Shaking Hands (Tirmidhi)

3) DUA

I'll be adding two duas, continuing the Greeting manner, everytime we enter our homes we should recite the dua mentioned below.

The next one is for gluttonous people like myself, May Allah help us Improve.

May Allah makes your life easy for you and May He bless you with a strength to make others' lives easy.
Ameen

Ramdhan - Roza 14

Assalamualikum va Rehmatullah

1) Character Improvement:

Meeting Manners:

' O you who believe, when you are asked to make room in the meetings, then make room. Allah will make room for you (in Akhirah). And when it is said 'move up', then move on. Allah will raise in rank those of you who believe as well as those who are given knowledge. Allah knows what ever you do' (Al Mujadilah, chap 58 - verse 11)

'Do not sit between two men without the permission of both of them' (Au Daud)

'When one of you arrives at a meeting where people are seated, he should say 'salam' to them. and when he wishes to leave, he should say salam to them. (Abu Daud)

2) Inculcating sunnah as habits

I have recently learnt about oiling your hair is also sunnah and the benefits of the same! will Try to practice it and share the benefits will you all too then insha Allah.
Today's Sunnah is eating with right hand, see the attached file, all we have to do is intent that it is sunnah that you are following and reap all the ajr insha Allah!

3) Dua:

Continuing the Meeting manners, the dua for parting/leaving from a gathering is below.

Ramdhan - Roza 13

Assalamualikum Va Rehmatullah

1) Character Improvement:

I want to talk about truthfulness today,

'that Allah may reward the truthful for their truth and punish the hypocrities if He will' (Al Ahzab verse 24)

'Allah has promised a great reward to:

1) Truly Muslim men and women
2) Believing muslim men and women
3) Obedient Muslim men and women
4) Truthful Muslime men and women"

(Al Ahzab, verse 35)

'It is great treachery that you tell your brother something he accepts as truth from you, but you're lying" (Abu-Dawud)

Also, see a attached very thought provoking page from my Hadith book (Zuad-Ut-Tualibeen), we forward messages from unreliable sources carrying information we don't know (or bother to verify) is truth or otherwise, or in arguments refer to verses from Quran Karim or Hadith we are not even sure exists! Is this a lighter sin??

Allah o Akbar! please read on!

2) Inculcating sunnah as habits:

Replacing Key Words from your life:

We have normal practice to wish people we love with a 'Take care', I have been thinking lately that we can not take care ourselves, can we?
We cant even relief a headache by our own, so what if we wish them with a 'Fe Aman Allah' (May You be in Care of Allah Subhanavatalah) in the Protection of the Creator Himself, can anything harm them?

Similarly, when someone does you a favour we thank them right? 'Thankyou'. Sadly, Thankyou cant do any good to them, on the contrary when you respond with Jazakillah (for Female) or JazakAllah (for Male) you hand over the rewarding bit to Allah Ta'ala, May Allah gives you Jaza for this favour. So sweet a prayer no?

do think!

3) Dua

I have been through strange moods, for no specific reasons, so i thought to reciting the same dua, while sharing at the same time with you all :)

requesting prayers,
Your sister in islam.

Ramadhan - Roza 12 + additional advice from Allah Azawajjal we all need!

Assalamualikum Va Rehmatullah

I sincerely apologize for the delay in sending this email, Kindly remember me and improvement in my state of iman in your kind prayers. Jazakum Allah e khair.
So, as a bonus I am attaching a Page from My Hadith Book (Zuad-ut-Talibeen) and a 15 minutes clip on the same issue - Guarding your tongue, The society we live in teaches us alot of slang word which we now take as a norm. Is it norm?
and sometime we dont say the Exact bad word but a similar sounding word, is it allowable?
Further, we sometimes in a gathering of friends and family often say things and make comments which are crossing lines and we dont even realize it. We often, just as gossip, make fun of other person or group! What is Allah's Command in respect of this?
Is it a lighter sin? if yes then remember the Hadith in which Rasool Allah sallalahu Alahe Wasalam warned Ayesha Razi Allah Anha above people neglecting little sins which cumulate and become the reason of taking them to hell fire!

May we all became cautious in our speech and may Allah forgive all our saghera and Kabera sins amen! May we be companions in Jannatul Al Firdos as well. Amen ya Rub!

Please do listen to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_57ZTxPRKHQ

1) Character Improvement:

Arrogance or Politeness?

' Do not walk in the earth haughtily. Surely, you can never tear the earth nor rival the mountains in the height!' ( Bani Israel - verse 37)

'Allah does not love prideful boasters' ( Al Waqia - verse 23)

"Allah is polite and likes politeness." (Condensed from Muslim)

2) Inculcating sunnah as habits:

(1) Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (or 'Abul Qasim) said, "While a man was walking, clad in a two-piece garment and proud of himself with his hair well-combed, suddenly Allah made him sink into the earth and he will go on sinking into it till the Day of Resurrection.  (Al Bukhari Book #72, Hadith #680)

we definitely need to re-consider our attitude of walking around!!

3) DUA

We've read that boasting off is forbidden and humbleness is promoted, So I found this dua, which I particularly like, kindly read below.

Requesting Prayers,
Your sister in islam.

Ramadhan - Roza 11 + Avoiding 15 common mistakes in Ramadhan

Assalamualikum Va Rehmatullah

Before I start the email, I would like to know how was the first Ashra of Ramadhan for you all? and i also humbly request prayers for myself.
And if anyone of you is receiving these emails twice please inform back and I'm sorry for this inconvenience.

1) Character Improvement:

Honesty

'And give full measure when measuring out, and weigh with proper scales' (Bani Israel - verse 35)

'and Measure in fairness and do not weigh unfairly' (Ar-Rehman verse 9)

'when ever you speak, speak justly even if near relative is concern' (Al-Anaam verse 152)

'Actions shall be judged only by intention, a man shall get what he intends' (Bukhari)

We all know that transactions are of two types, goods and services, so good/services can be used interchangably. Honesty for me, with my work would be to do it as i am expected to do it. As good as possible and as early. And if i make mistake unintentionally, Allah is all knowing! This is honesty. This is a tough tough deal, but i still pray if Allah Pak makes us among the honest people.

2) Inculcating sunnah as habits:

Narrated Sahl bin Sad: A tumbler (full of milk or water) was brought to the Prophet who drank from it, while on his right side there was sitting a boy who was the youngest of those who were present and on his left side there were old men. The Prophet asked, "O boy, will you allow me to give it (i.e. the rest of the drink) to the old men?" The boy said, "O Allah's Apostle! I will not give preference to anyone over me to drink the rest of it from which you have drunk." So, the Prophet gave it to him.  (Bukhari Book #40, Hadith #541)

While Serving food/drinks to guests, we usually start from elders or guests, while what are we told to do here?

3) DUA

Everytime i browse my dua books to find anything to send you all, I am left with so many choices. There shall always be so many things to share, more than i will ever have the time and energy to complile!

Since, the second Ashra' of Ramdhan has started which is the ashra of Maghfirah, I thought of sending 'Sayad -ul- Astaghfar' it hails from Sahih-AlBukhari.

and 5th Kalima!

 (Fifth Kalima Ishtaghfar (Forgivness)
English Translation: I seek forgiveness from Allah, my Lord, from every sin I committed knowingly or unknowingly, secretly or openly, and I turn towards Him from the sin that I know and from the sin that I do not know. Certainly You, You (are) the knower of the hidden things and the Concealer (of) the mistakes and the Forgiver (of) the sins. And (there is) no power and no strength except from Allah, the Most High, the Most Great.)

15 ways to Avoid common mistakes in Ramadhan:

1)      Making intention is obligatory. So Make intentions.

2)      The moment the Fajar time/Beginning of Dawn starts – Suhoor time ends. So, please don't eat thinking suhoor ends with salat ul Fajr!

3)      Do not delay paying Zakat-ul-Fitr. As zakat ul fitar is to be paid BEFORE E'id Prayer.

4)      Do not skip suhoor or have early suhoor (one or two hours before Fajr).

5)      Do not delay in breaking the Iftar (Rasool Allah sallalahu Alahe wasalam said as Sahl b. Sa'd (Allah be pleased with him) reported : The people will continue to prosper as long as they hasten the breaking of the fast. (Muslim)

6)      Most authentic dua of Iftar is attached, please learn it and recite that it is a beautiful beautiful dua which describes the exact feeling we have at Iftar!

7)      And you have to recite this dua AFTER breaking the fast, as the meaning says my thirst has been quenched.

8)      Taraweh is not a fard but a very Rewarding Sunnah! Do not be fast in offering Taraveeh.

9)      Do not socialize during Ai'tikaf. It is against the whole concept of Ai'tikaf itself.

10)   Lailatul Qadar is NOT on 27th. It may be, but it is on any of the odd nights in last ashra!

11)   Spend time in zikr, salah and rememberance of Allah =)

12)   Ask for forgiveness from Allah

13)   Ask duas as much you can!

14)   Recite Quran as much as possible.

15)   Get mentally prepare for FAST. It is NOT just abstaining from eating (and being hungry, it is instead abstaining from as much sins you can avoid as possible)

(Ref: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5sZWEWl6zQ)

Also, please find attach the beautiful dua of Aftar attached.

JazakAllah e khair!

Requesting prayers for strength in Iman.

Ramdhan - Roza 10

Assalamualikum Va Rehmatullah

1) Character Improvement:

Basic Virtues: Keeping a promise

'O you who believe, fulfil your undertakings..' (Al-Maida verse 1)
'... and (the pious ones are those) who fulfil their engagement when they make one (Al-Baqrah verse 177)

' Do Not quarrel with your brother Muslim, nor jest with him, nore make him a promise which you can not keep'
(Tirmidhi)

2) Inculcating sunnah as habits:

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle Sallalahu Alahe Wasalam said, "The food for two persons is sufficient for three, and the food of three persons is sufficient for four persons."  (Bukhari, Book #65, Hadith #304)

 - Share, even if the food is little, If Allah's Apostle Sallalahu Alahe Wasalam is saying this, this is definitely true. Allah will grant barkah in it, InshAllah.

3) Dua

I was reading Sorah-e-Tauba and found this Ayat, where Allah describes people who're Believers:

1) those who repent to Allâh (from polytheism and hypocrisy, etc.),
2) who worship Him,
3) who praise Him,
4) who fast (or go out in Allâh's Cause),
5) who bow down (in prayer),
6) who prostrate themselves (in prayer),
7) who enjoin (people) for Al-Ma'rûf (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism and all what Islâm has ordained) and forbid (people) from Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism of all kinds and all that Islâm has forbidden),
8) and who observe the limits set by Allâh (do all that Allâh has ordained and abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which Allâh has forbidden).

And give glad tidings to the believers.

(Verse 112)

The last point reminded me of a Dua I want to share with you all today, its in Quran, Al-Emraan verse 147
meaning of the dua is:  Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and our transgressions (in keeping our duties or limits set by you), establish our feet firmly, and give us victory over the disbelieving folk (3:147)

Ramdan - Roza 9

Asalamualikum Va Rehmatullah

1) Character Improvement:

'O you who believe! Do Not enter houses other than your own, without first seeking permission and saluting the people inside. This is better for you so that you may be heedful. And if you fine no one there in, Still do not enter until permission has been given"

(Chapter 24, verse 27-28)

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri: While I was present in one of the gatherings of the Ansar, Abu Musa came as if he was scared, and said, "I asked permission to enter upon 'Umar three times, but I was not given the permission, so I returned." (When 'Umar came to know about it) he said to Abu Musa, "Why did you not enter?'. Abu Musa replied, "I asked permission three times, and I was not given it, so I returned, for Allah's Apostle Sallalahu Alahe Wasalam said, "If anyone of you asks the permission to enter thrice, and the permission is not given, then he should return.' " 'Umar said, "By Allah! We will ask Abu Musa to bring witnesses for it." (Abu Musa went to a gathering of the Ansar and said). "Did anyone of you hear this from the Prophet Sallalahu Alahe Wasalam ?" Ubai bin Ka'b said, "By Allah, none will go with you but the youngest of the people (as a witness)." (Abu Said) was the youngest of them, so I went with Abu Musa and informed 'Umar that the Prophet Salalahu Alahe Wassalam had said so. (Al Bukhari, Book 73, Asking permission hadith 262)

Narrated Jabir: I came to the Prophet in order to consult him regarding my father's debt. When I knocked on the door, Rasool Allah Sallalahu Alahe wasallam asked, "Who is that?" I replied, "I" He said, "I, I?" He repeated it as if he disliked it.
Al Bukhari, Book 73, Asking permission hadith 267

Manners:
1) Greet people while entering (your or anyone else's) Home with Asalamualikum.
2) Ask permission thrice, if not granted, return back without any grudge in your heart.
3) when someone inquires that who is at the door, one should not answer as "main/me/I" ! App Sallalahu Alahe Wassalam disliked it!

2) Inculcating sunnah as habits:

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet Sallalahu Alahe Wassalam never criticized any food (he was invited to) but he used to eat if he liked the food, and leave it if he disliked  Narrated Abu Juhaifa: While I was with the Prophet Sallalahu Alahe Wassalam he said to a man who was with him, "I do not take my meals while leaning."

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: The Prophet Sallalahu Alahe Wassalam said, 'When you eat, do not wipe your hands till you have licked it, or had it licked by somebody else."

Al Bukhari - Book 65 (Food,Meals)

Manners of eating would include the three:

1) Do not explicitely criticize food.
2) DO not eat while leaning aginst the chair back or wall.
3) Do not wash hands after eating unless you've licked them.

3) DUA

We talk about beauty soaps, and tonics and pills, we're given with a beauty dua as well, atleast I consider it so.
I also like to add "Allahuma Aj'al fi Vajhi Noora" (Allah please grant noor to my face) as well.
it is reported that Allah's Apostle (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite this after Fajar's Sunnah and before Fajr Fard.

requesting prayers.

The gift that Raamadhan is!

Asaalamualikum wr,

Yes, the gift is Ramadhan and for that we should be thankful!

Subhan Allah! so we had been through quite tough roza's; loads of thirst and heat and sweating and loadshedding so much difficulties right? But Allah Subhanahu va Ta'ala tells in the Quran that Ramadhan is for ease and then Allah Ta'ala re assures that Ramadhan is NOT for difficulty - now the question is how??

okay if we put this debate aside and start a new one: Every nation has a constitution and a capital right? and every nation celebrates their constitution - Are we a nation? do we have a capital? do we have a constitution? do we celebrate it? and how?

Another argument back to Ramadhan: Allah Ta'ala mentions in the quran that fasting is made compulsory so that we can attain what? Taqva!.
now, fasting is refraining from Food, Drinking and physical allowable pleasures - everything physical. and it helps in getting what?? Taqva. something which is totally spiritual right? absolutely not physical. What is this incredible co-relation of this refraining from physical bits to attain spirituality?

In series on questions there is also a concept of Training that Ramadhan is, and easy circumstances that Allah Ta'ala puts us into to go through this training (easy? and training?) and that also a training to teach heart to win! (wining against what?)

also, we're told around 200 times to attain Taqva in Quran, over and over again but how many times we're told to Fast in Ramadhan? JUST ONE!! do you know why?

and last but the most important, ever imagined the CEO of Unilever or telenor or Olpers is personally always available at any phone calls made by security guards of the said companies? too remote an idea?

the highest person in the hierarchy and the lowest in it can not be thought of communicating, let alone the CEO readily awaiting the security guard to come discuss all his problems in the middle of the night?

Is the LORD OF THE UNIVERSE readily awaiting the lowest of HIS slaves? is HE subhanahu va ta'ala near? listening? available?

to get the answers of all the questions i have raised above, and a lot more guidance and knowledge please listen to this one hour full of wisdom lecture: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkxFs52Z0FY&feature=related

It should have been before Ramadhan but its not yet late! :)
Highly recommended!

Ramdhan - Roza 8.

Assalamualikum va Rehmatullah wa Baraqa tu hu!

1) Character Improvement:

Talking:

Luqman was a wise man from history, and his words were so full of intellect that Quran quotes them, these are one of

the advices he did to his son:

'Be modest in your behavior and lower your voice. Truly the harshest of all the voices is the voice of the ass'

(Surah-e-Luqman chap 31, 19)

'He who truly believes in Allah and the last day should speak good or keep silent.' (Bukhari & Muslim)

'He who keeps silent, remains safe' (Tirmidhi)

2) Inculcating sunnah as habits:

Narrated Al-Bara' bin 'Azib: Allah's Apostle ordered us to do seven things and forbade us to do other seven. He ordered us: to follow the funeral procession. to visit the sick, to accept invitations, to help the oppressed, to fulfill the oaths, to return the greeting and to reply to the sneezer: (saying, "May Allah be merciful on you," provided the sneezer says, "All the praises are for Allah,"). He forbade us to use silver utensils and dishes and to wear golden rings, silk (clothes), Dibaj (pure silk cloth), Qissi and Istabraq (two kinds of silk cloths).
(Bukhari, Book #23, Hadith #331)

I some time forget to say Alhamdolilah after i sneeze, and saying Yarhamakumullah after I hear some one sneeing and praying. InshAllah I'll try to not skip that because it is my duty on fellow muslims. I pray if all of us do the same too.

3) Dua:

I've grown materialistic lately and searched for dua to keep my heart soften and found this one, hence sharing because I really liked it. I hope to learn it as well, InshAllah.

-- May Allah makes your life easy for you and May He bless you with a strength to make others' lives easy.

Ramdhan - Roza 7.

Asalamualikum Va Rehmatullah

1) Character Improvement:

Co-operation and Brother hood!

'... cooperate with one another for virtue and piety and do not co-operate for sin and transgression' (Al-maida chat 5, verse 2)

'cling firmly together by Allah's rope (islam) and do not be divided.' (Al-Imran, chap 3, verse 103)

'and the belivers - men and women - are companion of one another, they command for right and forbid the wrong, establish salah and pay zakah and obey Allah and His Messenger' ( chap 9, verse 71)

'Believers are like the parts of a building to one another - each part supporting the others' (Bukhari)

I pray to learn the fact that we are all muslims, and hence very closely related to each other, to respect other sects of Islam and their followers and do not look down upon anyone of them because they're as equally Muslim as I am, perhaps better, and believe in the fundamentals of Islam, I have no right to nullify their believes or judge their actions. And I promise to not hold grudge against any human being because of their gender, race or sect. InshAllah. I pray if all of us do the same too, Amen.
As Anila ji mentions:
If I see a Muslim I assume he is better than me..If I see a non-Muslim I assume he can be better than me....Hakeem-ul-Ummat Molana Ashraf Ali Thanvi (RA)

2) Inculcating sunnah as habits:

It is stated in the hadith that one should begin wudhu with Allah's name. It is recorded in some ahadith that wudhu is valid although no "Bismillah" is recited. (Mishkat)

Further, when you wake up its better to put water in your nose and blow as per the Hadith attached.

3) DUA

The Duas of Wudu are attached. :) Happy reciting and collecting ajr-o-Sawab insha Allah!! (see the Virtues of reciting dua after Wudu attached alongwith the dua picture).

Ramdhan - Roza 6.

Asalamualikum va Rehmatullah

I hope and pray that all of you are well, I, for long wanted to share something about cursing time, and today I found the opportunity Alhamdolilah :)

1) Character Improvement:

My mantra chant for long is 'kya karain zamana hi kharab hai' or 'kitna bura zamana a gaya hay' Astaghfurullah, (which i have resolved to not say after being aware of the fact, May Allah grant us enough strength!) but What Allah's Appostle Sallalahu Alahe Wasalam tells us is:

It is authentically reported on the authority of Abu Hurairah (ra) that the Prophet Sallalahu Alahe wassalam said: "Allah Most Blessed, Most High, says: "The son of Adam wrongs Me: He curses time, though I am time: In My Hands are all things and I cause the night to follow the day." (Narrated by Bukhari)

In another narration, He Sallalaho Alahe wasallam says: "Do not curse time, for verily, time is Allah (swt).

Allah Most Glorified, Most High informs us in this Hadith Qudsi, that man commits a great wrong against Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala when he curses time and attributes the occurrence of events to it, for Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala is the Rabb of time and the Disposer of affairs and it is by His Qadr that events take place. Therefore to curse time is to curse the Owner of time.

2) Inculcating sunnah as habits:

Narrated Abu Huraira Allah's Apostle said, "Satan puts three knots at the back of the head of any of you if he is asleep. On every knot he reads and exhales the following words, 'The night is long, so stay asleep.' When one wakes up and remembers Allah, one knot is undone; and when one performs ablution, the second knot is undone, and when one prays the third knot is undone and one gets up energetic with a good heart in the morning; otherwise one gets up lazy and with a mischievous heart.(i.e dull and gloomy)"  (Bukhari, Book #21, Hadith #243)

3) DUA

Yesterday, we also learnt that Allah's Apostle (Saas) used to wake up (and did not jump out of the bed immediately, which is very harmful for the healthand instead) rub His eyes with His hands Sallalahu Alahe Wassalam while recing Subhan Allah or Allah o Akbar (atleast 5-6 times both) and the dua for waking up which is accordingly attached.

Ramdhan - Roza 5.

Asalamualikum va Rehmatullah

1) Character Improvement:

In continuation with the last night's email and the Ahadiths about how Mo'min people are personified love for each other, Islam always talks about peace and brother hood, about loving the people around you,

'Believers are but brothers, so set things right between your brothers and observe your duty to Allah so that you may obtain mercy' (Alquran, chapter 49, verse 10)

'Believers are like the part of building to one another - each part supporting the others.' (Al-Bukhari)

'None of you can be a believer unless he loves for his brothers what he loves for himself' (Bukhari)

tough deal, i agree... but phew, atleast we can teeny veeny bit try? and then Insha Allah help from Allah pak will come!

2) Inculcating sunnah as habits:

Allah o Akbar! May be i am too sleepy at the moment that this email is filled with Sunnahs and duas relating to sleeping,

Al-Bukhaari (6320) and Muslim (2714) narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "When one of you goes to his bed, let him dust off his bed with the inside of his lower garment, for he does not know what came onto it after he left it. Then let him say: Bismika Rabbee wada'tu janbi wa bika arfa'uhu wa in amsakta nafsi farhamhaa wa in arsaltahaa fahfazhaa bimaa tuhfaz bihi 'ibaadika al-saaliheen ( In Your name, my Lord, I lie down, and in Your name I rise. If You should take my soul then have mercy on it, and if You should return my soul then protect it as You protect Your righteous slaves)."  (The Arabic of this is also mentioned in the link, please put a little effort in learning Islam)

Al-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said in Sharh Muslim: "the inside of his lower garment" means its edge. What is meant is that it is mustahabb to dust down his bed before lying on it, lest there be a snake or scorpion or other harmful thing in it. And he should dust it down with his hand covered by the edge of his lower garment, lest something bad happen to his hand if there is anything there. End quote.

3) Dua.

There are quite few sleeping duas, so I have gotten myself a card which have all these duas written on it and placed it next to my bed, so every night before sleeping, i would recite all of these until Alhamdolilah i learnt them by heart; you can write it on a paper and paste it on the wall next to your bed, or have a print and paste and insha Allah it'll be easier:

'When retiring to his bed every night, the Prophet (S) would hold his palms together, spit in them, recite the last three chapters of the Qur'aan and then wipe over his entire body as much as possible with his hands, beginning with his head and face and then all parts of the body, he would do this three times.' (Al Bukhari - Fazail-e-Quraan baab 14)

The Prophet (S) also said: 'When you are about to sleep recite aayat-ul-kursiyy till the end of the verse for there will remain over you a protection from Allaah and no devil will draw near to you until morning' (Al Bukhari - Fazail-e-Quraan baab 10)

Al-Bara' ibn 'Azib said, "When the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to retire to his bed, he would lie on his right side and then say, 'O Allah, I surrender my soul to You and I turn my face to You and I entrust my affair to You and I seek Your support with hope and fear of You. There is no refuge from You but to You. I have believed in Your Book which You sent down and Your Prophet whom You sent.'" [al-Bukhari] (the dua is provided in the link at the end of this email)

The rest of the duas, you can take from this link.

Ramdan - Roza 4 plus Easy sawab trick!

Asalamualikum Va Rehmatullah

1) Character Improvement:

Relatives, neighbors and the needy:

'Give your relatives their due and also the needy and the traveler in need and do not squander (your wealth)

irresponsibly" (Bani Israel verse 26)

'...and (show) kindness to (your) parents and to near relatives, orphans, the needy and to the neighbors who are

your relatives and the neighbors who are not your relatives' (Al-nisaa verse 8)

'By Allah, he has no faith (the Prophet repeated it three times) whose neighbors are not safe from his wickedness'
(Al-Bukhari)

Neighbors do not only include people who live next to your home, but also people you stand with with while traveling in a bus, the person in the car next to yours on a busy road, someone in the line at the grocery store. So, take care.

In respect of that i am attaching two very beautiful Ahadith (of Mishkauh and Tibrani Shareef) about how a Mo'min person is full of humbleness love and mercy, more likely Mo'min is personified love!! and is loved.

2) Inculcating sunnah as habits:

(1) Narrated 'Umar bin Abi Salama: I was a boy under the care of Allah's Apostle and my hand used to go around the dish while I was eating. So Allah's Apostle said to me, 'O boy! Mention the Name of Allah and eat with your right hand, and eat of the dish what is nearer to you." Since then I have applied those instructions when eating.  (Bukhari, Book #65, Hadith #288)

3) Dua.

A dua after eating meal is attached wherein you Thank Allah subhana va Ta'ala, the provider, of the food you have eaten. I am also attaching a hadith of Rasool Allah Sallalahu Alahe Wassalam in which the ajr of the person thanking after the meal is told almost equivalent to that of a person who has fasted! So every time you eat and thank Allah you get loads of energy and loads of Ajr!! Subhan Allah! so thats the easy sawab trick :)

Remember in dua!

Do sins multiply in Ramadan?

 Do sins multiply in Ramadan?

As Salaam Aleikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. (May Allah's Peace, Mercy and Blessings be upon all of you)

One of our brothers/sisters has asked this question:

do sins multiply in ramadan? if somone commits a sin in ramadan is it wayyy worse than commiting it outside of ramadan?

Answer

Arfajah reports that: "We were with 'Utbah ibn Farqad while he was discussing Ramadan. A companion of the Prophet (saws) entered upon the scene. When 'Utbah saw him, he became shy and stopped talking. The man spoke about Ramadan, saying: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah (saws) say during Ramadan: "The gates of Hell are closed, the gates of Paradise are opened, and the devils are in chains. An angel calls out: 'O you who intend to do good deeds, have glad tidings. O you who intend to do evil, refrain, until Ramadan is completed.'"

In this blessed month of Allah Subhanah when the Lord's Mercy is overwhelming and overflowing, so much so that if a believer were to perform the 'nafl' or voluntary prayers he has been promised the reward of a 'fard' prayer of other months, where the performance of a minor Umrah pilgrimage earns the person the reward of making the major pilgrimage of Hajj, and where the rewards of doing any good deed earn multiple rewards, etc.; it is obvious that if a person disrespects and dishonors this blessed month of Allah Subhanah by transgressing His bounds and committing sin, the Wrath and Anger of Allah Subhanah on the person committing sin will be more than it would be in other months.

If one trusts, obeys, and follows the guidance and commands of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of never ever being misled; but if one believes, obeys and follows any other guidance, other than that of Allah and His Messenger (saws), one can be assured of being led astray.

Whatever written of Truth and benefit is only due to Allah's Assistance and Guidance, and whatever of error is of me alone.  Allah Alone Knows Best and He is the Only Source of Strength.

wondering if we adopt one quality each day, practice one sunnah and learn one new dua, it will hardly take 10
minutes i guess and a lot of determination for sure :)
so, by the end of the month we will inshAllah have 90 new learnings and unlimited hasanats.

just a meek attempt at improving this ramdan. Learn and let others know and learn it too.

1) Character Improvement
:

Qualities of Mu'min

- They are humble in their prayers. (that is they consiously pray with khuso'u)
- They avoid Vain Talk.
- They Practice Zakat.
- They Guard their modesty.
- They fully observe their trust (ehd with Allah swt or with people) and undertakings (Amanat)
- They strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours).

People who practice all of the above shall enter paradise and shall remain there forever.

(Al-mominoun chap 23, ayat 1-11)

Faith is that you believe in Allah and His Messanger and His angels and life after death.
Islam is that you worship Allah and not associate anyone with Him, keep up salat, pay zakat and observe sawn in
Ramdhan.
Ehsan is that you worship Allah as if you see Him and (if you can not consider that) surely He sees you.

(Al-Bukhari)

2) Inculcating sunnah as habits:

Narrated 'Aisha: The Prophet used to like to start from the right side on wearing shoes, combing his hair and cleaning or washing himself and on doing anything else.  (Bukhari Book #4, Hadith #169)

And marry such of you as are solitary and the pious of your slaves and maid- servants. If they be poor, Allah will enrich them of His bounty. Allah is of ample means, Aware.

[Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 3090
Narrated by Abu Hurayrah R.A]

when someone asks you for marriage

Allah's Messenger (saws) said, 'When someone with whose religion and character you are satisfied asks your daughter in marriage, accede to his request. If you do not do so, there will be temptation on Earth and extensive corruption.'
[Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 3090
Narrated by Abu Hurayrah R.A]

Lower your Gaze

Tell the believing men to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things) and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts). That is purer for them. Lo! Allah is aware of what they do.

[24 Surat-un-Noor , سورة النور, Verse : 30]
